In the heart of a sunny area, where harmony between the rural environment and modern comforts come together to create a unique Rural Tourism experience, welcome to Casas da Luz!

This enterprise is an oasis of tranquillity, situated in a stunning setting that offers a spectacular view over the sea and the majestic surrounding mountains.

It is estimated that the main house of this enterprise was built in the nineteenth century, around the year 1880, and was subject to reconstruction works in 1934. In the 1970s, the house was acquired by Agostinha da Luz and three generations of this family have grown up there to the present day. It is in homage to this matriarch that the name Casas da Luz arises. Between 2020 and 2023, this space of memories and tradition composed of the main house and the annexed buildings was subject to requalification and expansion works, with special care in the conservation of the various elements that characterise traditional Madeiran houses, including the stone walls and the wine press, where wine is still produced annually. Divided into three welcoming units, each designed to provide maximum comfort and privacy: the Casa da Mãe, divided over two floors, offers three spacious bedrooms; the Casa da Latada located on the upper floor composed of two bedrooms and the Casa da Pedreira, located on the ground floor, has a large bedroom.

Mother's House, a refuge for the Luz family for several years, is the perfect accommodation to provide family gatherings and unforgettable memories.

The accommodation is refurbished and furnished with refined taste, highlighting its modernity and the maintenance of excellent materials present from its origin. In its entrance hall, be enchanted by a spacious living room that extends to its dining area. You will also find a spacious and fully equipped kitchen prepared for the preparation of all your meals. As support for this floor, we provide a WC. On its upper floor, all bedrooms with sea views and private balcony, provide private bathrooms and shower facilities.

You will be presented with an infinity pool being the perfect place to relax, cool off and enjoy a relaxing dip whilst appreciating the stunning view that only Casas da Luz can offer you!

For culinary enthusiasts, we offer a small vegetable plantation and fruit trees to make your meals even more special. Feel at home and harvest the freshest, healthiest and seasonal products and incorporate them into your recipes.

Your days will begin in the best possible way with our delicious daily breakfast of local products prepared with great care!

To ensure your comfort during your stay with us, we provide regular cleaning service in each accommodation.

Furthermore, all our common areas will be cleaned daily, providing you with an immaculate and pleasant environment.

Guests are responsible for the proper use of the accommodation and its respective equipment. Damage, loss or misuse identified during or after the stay may be subject to the application of a damage fee, intended to cover repair, replacement or extraordinary cleaning costs.
